Randy is right.

I found the page of information on the Bachmann site for you:

http://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=254_258_366_367&products_id=2511

The power pack with it is A DC power pack only shown in the small pic at the bottom that you can enlarge to see the contents..

Bachmann makes trolleys and the like that will travel back and forth on the set. When the trolley hit s the bumper, it will pause for 5-7 seconds, then go back to the other bumper and pause before moving on...

As said, it is NOT the polarity reverser used in DCC applications to reverse the direction of  a train.

 HO and N Scale.

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.

That one is for DC only, it makes a trolley/whatever go back and forth between two points on a stretch of track. It will work with the DCC on-board trolleys, but only if the power supply is a plain DC power pack. It's a back and forth direction reverser, not a track polarity reverser like used for DCC reverse loops.

Based on the pictures of the Bachmann 44547 shown on e-Bay, I'd say it is for DC use only.  There appear to be two short end pieces that probably have a switch that the train touches to reverse the polarity of the track.  The controller shown with it is not a DCC controller.

TankedEngine

Ok

Thanks

What confused me was this statement in an Eb listing for the 44547, by a volume seller of train equipment:

"Here is what we wanted you to read - Any HO or On30 scale DCC Installed/On Board Trolley or Locomotive will run on this system! It's very cool!"

Your original post seemed to indicate you got your info from the Bachmann site.

http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/index.php

There is a product info page. Store this link in Favorites for Bachmann info.

The Bachmann site makes a definitive comment. It is for point to point operation. One track. There is no mention of DCC.

The E-Z Track label is not to be confused with EZ Command DCC. By definition, it means the EZ Track is DC only. This gets asked maybe once a year in the Bachmann forums.

I think this system is DC only.  It will not work with DCC.  To my knowledge, there is no simple unit like this that will actually reverse direction of a DCC locomotive.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Bachmann have an HO Scale  E-Z Track System 'Auto Reversing' System, ref. 44547.

I am trying to find out whether you can run DC equipment on it or whether it is DCC only?

Their web site & other sources makes no definitive comment on this.

Anyone familiar with it & can comment?

Thank you
