jmri loading problem

jmri loading problem

just wondering if anyone has had this problem after loading the software. this has shown up on two different computers. and different versions.

sorry, but the problem is i cant read that language, if it is one. all ive done is download the install file and ran it. this is what shows from the very start.

I can think of two possibilities:

One would be a font problem - Either you've installed a font, or removed one, so JMRI is using what it "thinks" is correct.

The other would be that you have a locale/language preference set somewhere in Windows.

You may want to try setting the motif to something different.  That might fix it if it's a font issue, because different motifs use different fonts.  The manual has screen captures, so even if you can't read yours you can still use those captures as a guide to navigate to the setting.

But what you really need to do is post your question on the JMRI Yahoo! group.  I'm sure it's either happened before, or one of the folks who writes the code will know where it gets it's font and/or language settings from.

thanks for the hints. i used the screen shots from the site to navigate. ended up just changing the display from metal to windows and that was it.
