Soundtraxx sound change
Posted by Harley-Davidson on Monday, November 14, 2011 9:03 AM

A friend has a Soundtraxx decoder -previous version- for an Athearn U50, and he want to change the sound for another engine, meanwhile waits the new deco version. Is it possible to change the sound for another model? and how?. Thanks

The SoundTraxx Tsumani will not let you change the prime mover (the diesel engine type).

Only LokSound, QSI, and some Digitrax decoders can have new sounds programmed into them.  SoundTraxx has never supported this.

I believe if he calls Soundtraxx and asks them to reprogram for a minimal charge they will do so at their location.

Seems I remember a post about SoundTraxx charging about $10 to reprogram one of their decoders. You have to mail it to them and they do it at their factory.
