Peco PL-10 toggle replacement
Posted by MikieM on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 5:16 PM

Can anyone tell me what kind of toggle switch I could use to instead of the Peco PL-10 switch to control my Peco table top switch motor?  I would like to run down to Radio Shack an pick something up.  Would it be a DPDT momentary on - off - momentary on style?

As long as it is momentary in both positions it should be ok. Or you could use two pushbuttons, one for normal and the other for reverse. Using a capacitor discharge unit will help prevent coil burnout should you hold the toggle switch in one position too long.

Thank you.  This is what I thought.  Thanks for the confirmation.

I even use the Atlas switches sometimes from leftover inventory.

Do the Atlas switches hold up?  I was told that they may not be able to handle the charge and burn out after a while.  How long have yours lasted?
