This is exactly what we have been talking about as the next step - it even recharges the battery when there's track power. Perfect for reverse loops - just insulate the whole works and don;t even power it!

I'm not too concerned on alimit of 15 locos runnign at a time - I just hope that it can alias the loco channels to the cab number so you cna control locos just like with regualr DCC. 15 may not be enough for a really large home layout, or a club, but for most users, 15 is a reasonable number. It's probably a bandwidth issue - even radio throttles for regular DCC seem to start having issues with more than 15 throttles running at the same time.

Now for the important part - how much does all this cost?

For anyone interested in R/C DCC, check out this forum ....

Stanton already offers a controller and numerous components. A few guys even have even successfully achieved this in N scale !  These guys are leaps and bounds ahead of the game.

Interesting, very much along the lines of what has been discussed over the years as a step forward for DCC.   I am not sure why the 15 loco limit?

I just received a message from Dave via a Yahoo DCC group and below is a little of the message.

I have bought from NWSL over the years and Dave recently did a loco upgrade, gears/motor for me.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we now have info on our website
(www.nwsl.com/cab) detailing the wireless DCC control system we were
demonstrating at the national show in Sacramento. I say "quiet rollout"
because it is now shipping, although we're still building these by hand
as we ramp up for volume production. There are also links at the bottom
to the flyer we had at the show, and a link to an informational page on
the new battery option we have.

Battery operated. Works on rails that have DC, AC or DCC power. Have fun with this discussion.

Make sure you read his target market before starting a Rant. He does answer email and is in the Yahoo DCC 4 everyone Group.
