Atlas 200 Snap-Relay
Posted by wayles3 on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 12:04 PM

I am looking at installing (4) Atlas 200 Snap-Relays to my system. Do it work on the Atlas Trutrack Snap switches? I am having a hard time wiring them up, any suggestions. It says to come off one side tothe frog and turnout connections. I am still having problems.

What are you trying to do with the relays?

As far as I know, all Atlas snap-switches have plastic frogs, so they can't be powered.

Normally, one would put a snap relay in parallel with a switch machine, and use the contacts to power signals or indicator lights.  In the case of Customline turnouts, they could be used to power the metal frogs.  When powering a relay and switch machine at the same time, you might find that you need a capacitive discharge (CD) circuit to provide enough power to throw them simultaneously.
