I was installing a nce d13srj decoder when I hooked up the ditch lights and tried it on the test track my f2 light stays on all the time f1 turns on and of like its supposed to. Does anyone know waht might cuase this.
What CVs did you set? The examples in the instructions are exactly what you want. It sounds liek you set the effect for F1 but not F2. If CV122 is 56, then CV123 needs to be 60. It sounds like you left CV123 at 0 so it just goes on and off.

I didnt get a chance to set up cvs the light turned on as i set it on the test track and it wont respond at all' even after i did a factory reset with my nce procab. I wander if my bulbs where to hot and I fried the chip.
What loco is it and which bulbs did you use? If they were 1.5 volt bulbs and you didn't use any resistors, you defintiely blew them out. But you said one flashes and one just stays on. Now you say neither ones goes on - which is it?

I have hardwired it to a bachmann plus gp 30 .the bulbs I used where 12 volt very small grain of wheat size. I used no resistor becouse they where 12 volt .neather bulb is set to flase. when it first starts up before any settings just sitting there the f2 ditch light will be on not flassing and I cant turn it off by pressing thr f2 button on my pro cab no responce . I can control all the other lights with there corisponding buttons.Does this sound like the decoder is bad is there any way that I might set up on my cvs .Even after a number of resets it wont respond.

Stuck on could be a sign of a bad decoder. Does the one conencted to F1 turn on and off with the F1 button? What aboyt the headlight, does that work proeprly when you turn the light button on and off?
I'd still verify the CVs, the 0 value is for a simple light that goes on and off - but I believe NCE has 2 optiosn to activate F2 - the horn icon which is momentary, on only as long as you hold the button, and the 2 button which toggles on and of fliek any other function.
To set up ditch lights on an NCE decoder you must do the following. The ditch lights will then flash when you press the F2 key (Horn button).
Connect the bulbs to the yellow and green decoder wires.
Set CV 36 to 12.Set CV 122 to 56Set CV 123 to 60Set CV 35 to 0
The headlight must be turned on for the ditch lights to work.
This is explained at the top of page 4 of the NCE decoder instrucitions.
