Yep, NCE's DA-SR decoder would be a good choice.

If you want to stay with Digitrax decoders, get a DH165A0: http://digitrax.com/prd_mobdec_dh165a0.php
No modifications. It does require taking all the wires off the old one, and hooking them up to the proper places on the new one. Decoder snaps in to the same mounts.
I prefer TCS decoders: http://www.tcsdcc.com/public_html/Customer_Content/Products/Decoders/HO-Scale/A-Series/A-Series.htm
NCE also makes similar decoders: http://ncedcc.com/component/virtuemart/?page=shop.product_details&flypage=garden_flypage.tpl&product_id=47&category_id=13
As money allows, I have 4-5 more Atlas decoders to replace. I have 2-3 done.

I have 4 Atlas Master Loco with the 342 Dual decoder I would like to replace them with a better decoder
I have Digitrax decoders in my other loco and they work great.
I would like the decoder to be a plug & play type with very little modifacations
