9 pin quick plugs
Posted by johngriffey18ca1 on Thursday, May 12, 2011 7:16 PM

Is there somewhere where I can buy the female connection for a 9 pin quick plug and wire it to a decoder.  If so does anyone know how to do that? or where to get the connector?

Thanks!

Are you looking for a JST 9 pin harness to wire to a loco?  Here are some. There are many others.   http://www.traintekllc.com/Harnesses/products/297/

If you are looking for something different then you may try an electronics supply store. They are a 9 pin JST socket. I pulled apart a junk heater control actuator from one of our haul trucks for the little can motor and found a 10 pin and 6 pin JST connectors.

Litchfield Station has had them but out of stock right now. Don't know about other DCC on line shops. I only order from Litchfield.

All those dummy plugs you take out of 9 pin locos to install a decoder? Unsolder the diodes that are on there for DC lighting and cut through the links between the track and motor pins with a razor saw, and reuse those.
