The Silver series locos that are the soundless companions to the sound equipped Gold series have the A frame and have weights that can be removed to add speakers.

The Soundtraxx TSU-1000 should work. You also will need a speaker. If you remove the shell you might get lucky and find an "A" frame with a hole that can be punched out for speaker mounting.
Here's a link to the soundtraxx site for the correct part number matching.

Kevin:
The Atlas Gold Series decoders are QSI and are made to Atlas specifications. I'm not sure if an aftermarket QSI decoder has the proper form factor to be a "drop in". It may require some extra work.
Hello Again, all,
Another quick question for you all. I have an Atlas Masters GP-38. I was thinking I might see if there is a decoder with sound that I can upgrade it to. There are several decoders on ebay that say they are for Atlas, but I want to get the right one. I want one that I can just unplug my old decoder and plug the new one with sound in. Anyone know what decoder I need. I'm basically looking to see if they sell the Atlas Gold decoder by itself. If they don't, what is the most compatable decoder to buy for Atlas Masters trains?
