Just installed the MRC E8/9 drop in decoder in a older Life-LIke E7 powered and non powered B unit and was pleasantly suprised at the results. The bulbs had to be replaced with LED's but did not need resistors. with a connector and harness installed the supplied second speaker in the B unit and they sound and perform well enough for my deaf ear. The price also makes them real cost effective. I payed 59.00 for mine. The decoder can only be intalled in the models that have the original rear circuit board.

Since the thread had been up for well over 24 hours without comment I don't think you have to worry. I suspect that most just shrug with ambivalence and move on.
Just out of curiosity, why are you so defensive about MRC?
I am really glad you like your system, and I am equally happy when someone posts that they have had a success story with an MRC decoder. Unlike many others they have not wasted their hard earned money.
