Good afternoon. I have recently re-built my layout anf I am back to the same issues I had with the last on with the dcc power.. First off I am using solid 12g for the main power and 22g for the feeders. I also used suitcase clips as well as soldered the feeders to the track. All I am getting is lights and no sound or movement. I have also just cleaned the tracks as well as wheels.. Any direction would be great
Are the lights controllable? You said sound, which sound decoders? Which DIgitrax system, and what throttle are you using?
Two things immediately come to mind, one is that you haven't actually turned on track power. On a DT400/403 throttle, press the Power button, then press Y/+. In the top righ of the display there is a small dot. If it is off, or blinking, power is NOT on and the trains won;t run. On the Zephyr you just press the Power button.
Possibility #2, if these locos have QSI sound decoders, they are in disconnect mode, although in this mode the sounds usually work but the loco won't move. In Shutdown mode the lights don't work either. I'm betting #1.

What DCC system are you using, Digitrax I take it, but what model?
What decoders are in the locomotives?
There are so many things that could be the problem....
Wiring issues with the layout?
Decoder installation issue?
User error with the DCC system?
If you have the track power turned on correctly and upon turning on you get the lights on the locomotive to light but nothing else, it suggests that you are not addressing the locomotive correctly. Have you ever programmed these locomotives with new address?
It would help greatly to get some more detail about what you are using, exactly what you are doing and exactly what the results are.

Double clicking the #6 button will bring a loco out of the shutdown or disconnect mode.

If the track power is not turned on the lights won't work either.

Try turning the lights on and off with the throttle. That will tell you whether or not you have the decoder selected. If the engine is not responding on the address that you think is is programmed to try address three to see if the decoder has been reset.

try deselecting, then reselecting the loco. Also, shut off track power, then turn back on. If you are using the 402 throttle, make sure you dont have the same loco selected on both sides of the throttle.

Actually, if track power is in suspend mode (blinking dot on the DT400), lights will be on but the motor won't respond. I get a call just about every show from a member who can't get the track to power up. It's usually that blinking dot. Press Power and Y/+ one time and voila'

What Martin said. Also, in a multiple booster situation, of a DB150 turns on before the command station, it comes up with power to the track. I have a DB150 set as a booster with a Zephyr as the command station, and everything is plugged in via an X10 appliance module so I don't have to crawl under the layout and turn on the surge strip every time I want to run trains. When powered up liek this, the DB150 puts power ont he track and any headlights that were on come on, and sound locos that start on power uo start making noise. Can't run anything until I hit Power/+ since the Zephyr isn;t sending any commands.
