I did an older one for my son.   It was a split frame design and identical in construction to the Dash 8 that I did and was used by TCS on their web site  http://www.tcsdcc.com/public_html/Customer_Content/Installation_Pictures/HO_Scale/Bachmann/Spectrum_Dash_8-40CW/Spectrum%20Dash%208-40CW.html   if yours is the split frame as well then everything you need to know is in this link.

 When you figure it out, use a TCS decoder and take pictures and send it to TCS. This is one they don't have. If they use your pictures you get a free decoder.

Scale? Is it DCC ready?  New Spectrum or older Spectrum?
