What are good books for the beginner to read to learn how to wire a NEW HO layout for DCC?
Here is a start and it is free. Others no doubt will mention books you can buy. I prefer the Internet method.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
I agree with Rich on that website. In fact when it comes to most things about our hobby I find the internet a wealth of information. I regret buying the few how to books I have, as anything that I found in them I have found online and it is often up to date info. The money would have been better spent on hardware for the layout. But to each their own.

Rich gave you one of the best resources to DCC wiring. There are a few more like these.

While these sites go beyond simple DCC wiring they will come in handy for any questions or problems that might arise.

I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
