2 pin connectors for Bachmann
Posted by JRP on Friday, March 4, 2011 7:37 PM
The wires connected to my 2-pin connector broke off. If your familiar with the DCC 4-8-4 Northern with tender, you know what I am talking about. The female pins (both a 4 and 2 pin) are wired inside the tender and must connect with the male counterparts located under the locomotive in order for it to run. The Bachmann exploded parts views do not show any "pin" connects or harness that is available thru Bachmann parts. I even called them this morning and they were not sure if they even carried them(??), but in all fairness their internet service was down too. Any suggestions from you old hand experts? Thanks. JRP

I have bought the connector with the leads. The parts mounted in the tenders, no idea. Below is the Bachmann site with a page for ordering parts.

To my knowledge, the connector part in the loco or tender  frame is not available.

When I remove the connector, I gently pry with a small jewelers screwdriver. I also gently put the connector back in.

Bachmann does not sell the connectors as repair parts -- you have to send the locomotive back to them for repair.
