I switched the direction of my older Athearn Genesis F3A with DCC and MRC sound.and now forgot what CV I changed and how to change it back. HELP.
It's probably CV29. This is a "bit-mapped" CV, so you only want to change one bit.
Read back CV 29 from your engine. If it's an odd number, subtract 1 and write that number back to the decoder. If it's an even number, add 1 and write that number back.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
If it is an MRC decoder, you may not be able to 'read' the CV values. Normally you would want to set CV29 to a value of '38' for normal forward(cab first) operation.

It is a MRC sound decoder, original equip. I thought it was like resetting CV 158 to 1 or something?? I dont think I changed CV29.
CV 29 is the DCC standard for several things including loco direction.
You guys are right, I looked in my DCC system owners manual. I need to set CV 29 to 34. All that bit talk was confusing me.
