I have a couple of LS150 decoders that I want to use to control the eleven switches I have on my small N Scale layout. I use a Digitrax DC 50 (Zephyr) to controll the layout.
My question is this, the Lenz manual says to use the Atlas Generator #335 to power the LS150, the Atlas Generator is a bit difficult to find. If I can find them do I need to buy one for each LS150 or can one generator supply power to both? Is there something better to use as a power supply for these decoders, and if so what?
Thanks in advance for any help or assisatance you can provide.

Lenz recommends the Atlas Generator because they made it. It's nothing more than an AC power transformer so any other brand will do just fine. According to the technical specifications the Atlas Generator has a power output of 15 Volts at 3 Amps. Practically every DCC manufacturer or supplier offers an equivalent transformer that has even more power than the Atlas Generator. For example:

Even the AC accessories power terminals of an old MRC power pack can be used for this purpose if you have one of them laying around unused.
The AC power output of the Atlas Generator and any other suitable transformer is to power the twin coil switch motors, so one transformer should have more than enough power output to use with both LS150s.
Friend had LS150's on his layout, he powered them from the 12V 1.5 amp AC power bus he has running around the layout. Since repalced with DS64's because he has mostly Tortoise switch motors and th LS150 isn;t suitable. With his small code N scale rail, pwoer doesn't have to be applied continuously for the TOrtoises to hold position, but it does have to stay on long enough to fully move the Tortoise - which the LS150 can do. Problem is, while the LS150 is supply power to one output for the set delay time, it will NOT respond to a command for any of the other ports ont eh same LS150.
