Have you had the same failure problems with these decoders also?

No, I've never used one of them; all of mine are NCE Switch-It controlling Tortoise motors.

My suggestion would be that you address your problem to Digitrax -- the decoders should be under warranty and they may have a bad batch that they're unaware of.

I am using a Zephyr on a layout with KATO Track.  The layout includes 8 turnouts.  I have installed 13 DS51K1 stationary decoders built specifically for the KATO turnouts and have a failure rate of over 50%.  Two very experienced DCC people have verified the installation as correct.  Is anyone else experiencing failures of these decoders?
