Non-locomotive sound devises

Members

I have been searching for non locomotive sound decoders/devices/boards etc. or what ever their proper name is, for sometime now and being 65 I would like to find them before my hearing goes. Placing the word "....  .sound  ..." in your searches pretty well guarantees 1000s upon 1000s of results.

It could be a hint that since I have only found a couple (saw mill, thunder) that that's all that's available right now however it's time to ask for help.

What companies manufacture sound devices for, as an example, refrigeration units on trucks and refrigeration cars, pulp mill sounds, car wash sounds (to use with my passenger car washer), different industries etc.? Basically any sound devices that covers everything else but, not locomotives.

Thank you.

Not much, as far as I know.

The sound modules by Innovative Train Technology Co. are likely the best and only option at this point.

Sound Modules

Lots of sounds to choose from.

The modules are a little large for smaller scales (any thing under O).  I've used them for our G scale trains, but never for anything smaller.

I hear ya though on reefer units.

I'm in the process of making my own sound file for a Mechanical Reefer (and also for Santa Fe Hi-Level generators) for use with the Digitrax SoundBug.  Not sure if it is even feasible at this time.  I finally found a good sound to use.  Now I have to set it up for use as a loop and in the decoder.  So lots left to do.

Micro-Mark carries a number of non loco sound devices, scroll down the page to see them.

There is another company that also has a bunch but I can't find the link at the moment.

Carroll,

You know the longer I'm here on this forum the more I am surprised.   Only about 100(79 as I look now) are on the forum at any one point and time, yet you've received some good advice.

Here's another source.

Sound helps bring a layout to life doesn't it.

Thank you woodone

I do remember this site but didn't go in as I thought that dream player referred to a make of train player.

Pays to look I guess.

Thanks woodone

That sounds like quite an undertaking. Depending on which company's decoder(?) you use, a few have software to change the sounds recorded on them. That could be a benefit but don't know the cost of it. I hope it turns out well for you.
