It probably picked up a bug during a power glitch. that's why they include a reset function.

Tom,
I just tried that and things seem to be fixed. I think this Powercab has been acting up for about a week. When I ran my Proto 2000 F7's the other night it would not acknowledge them until I put in a four digit address. I may call them in the morning and see if they think something might be screwee inside.
Thanks

Steve,
You might try resetting your problem Power Cab. This can be found on pg. 59 of the Rev 1.28 Power Cab manual, under the heading SETUP COMMAND STATION/RESET SYSTEM? This will reset "all of the system configuration settings [of your Power Cab] to their factory defaults". It couldn't hurt.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Update! I just tried my other powercab and it worked just like the video on the bli website. Evidently my other powercab seem to be having an issue all of he sudden or I have it stuck on some obscure mode.

Steve.
You will not have sound until it is addressed and either a function or movement is made in the Bluelines. Clear all your consists from your power cab memory. If the address is in another consist it will be listed as a consisted loco on your cab. You can download the tech manuals from the BLI web site for the Bluelines. There are several manuals that cover steam and diesels.

I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
I pull out the BLI boards, except for lights on the one's I've done. That way the decoder I install works a lot easier. Never had a problem this way. Using Soundtraxx,QSi and Digitrax. My basic premise is to keep it simple.

The CON on my Powercab is the most confusing thing. The decoder was not consisted with anything. It's as if the Powercab thinks I am trying to consist the two decoders together. I can't figure out why I don't at least have sound from the Blueline when I power up.
Are the aforemented Digitrax and NCE decoders specifically listed on BLI's "recommended" decoder list for their Blueline series locomotives? The recommended list are known decoders that will successfully program together with the onboard sound decoder.
Also, were the decoders you were using ever used in another locomotive? If so, did you use that locomotive to consist with?
I bought a Lenz Silver MP decoder for my Blueline NYC Niagara. I programmed it with my Power Cab and never had a problem addressing either the 2- or 4-digit address.
Steve
Your Power Cab has the power to program the Bluelines on the program track. This is what I do. Add the motor decoder(TCS T1 or MC2) into the Blueline loco. Then set it on the program track and put the power cab into program track mode. Do a standard program including address and set CV29 to disable DC. The Power Cab will program both decoders at the same time to the same address. Leave the decoders unlocked. Do not use CV15 and 16 to lock the decoders. This will only cause problems while trying to consist later.
I have 5 Blueline steamers and have converted and programed many more for club members. Never had issues with them.
In case no one here can help, the is a BLI forum that I belong to. I have the BLI with Tsunami and PCM with LokSound but not the BLI loco you have.
The BLI rep is there also although he may be going to the show in West Springfield this weekend.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
Hello,
Yes I know I should have researched these a little before I bought them but the signals I got on line and from bli is that they were no problem if you programmed them on the main. Well my first attempt with an f7 did not work as the new decoder was bad.
I then used a Digitrax 123 and all I get are the lights , no sound or movement using address 3.
I tried this decoder on two more Bluelines and get the same result except with the two steamers I get nothing not even lights. I also tried an nce KRS SR and get the same results.
I have to be missing something, or Bob Grubba is using different locos in his video, these locos are new out of the box and all ran fine on DC.
I do notice when I call up address three it lists it in the upper left part of my LED on my Powercab as CON: 003 with LOCO: 000 underneath it. It does this on all three of the locos not matter which controller is connected.
I also tried to reset CV 8 with the motor controller out and all I got was that it could not read the decoder at all. Any suggestions?
