reversing loop question
Posted by bnsf0823 on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 6:57 PM

he3y fellow railroaders i have a double decker layout with a reversing loop on the bottom that is run with psx-ar which works flawless.  I have a double main on the bottom that i would like to run all the way around the reversing loop and then meet into the loop.  Is this possible?  how would i go about wiring a insulating were the second line meets into the reversing loop if possible.  So that would make two different turnouts were the polarity could be reversed right?  The reason i would like to do so is astetics and to create a little more main on the bottom.  Give me more room to manuever trains.  please forgive my spelling.  If someone could shed some light on this issue i would love it.  I have had a lot of good help on this forum.  Thanks,

"My wife lets me buy all the trains i can Hide"  Thought that was a funny saying on a shirt that i saw last week, pretty true to my life.

So, you want the outside main to go around stay the outside main and the inside main to stay the inside?    In that case there really isn't a need for a reverse loop as I see it.    It's just turning.

Are you wanting an individual loop for each mainline stacked where main 1 goes out and back on itself and main 2 goes out and back on itself?     If they're not stacked you would somehow have to offset the loops of course.

A picture is worth a thousand words.  Draw something with a pencil, scan it or take a picture, upload it somewhere and post it.  It doesn't have to be a work of art - just something we can see.

Trying to work from a verbal description, we might not really see the whole picture, and we want to give you the best advice we can.
