I am having trouble with a Dgitrax UR91 & U4TR Installation

Like I said, he is talented but in reality the money helps in hiring folks to built the scenery, benchwork and wiring and of course get the real estate for the large layouts. Let's not kid ourselves.

Thanks again. I am about a year away from having my layout fully operational so this set up will be fine for now. I'll upgrade later on and move this setup to my branch line.

Yes Larry, with the Digitrax Simplex wireless (UR91 and R throttle) you have to reconnect to the loconet to select a new loco.  Dial up the number you want, plug in to select, then disconnect and run wireless.   The new Digitrax Duplex wireless (UR92 and D throttle) allows for wireless selection of  locos without the need to connect.

 You don;t have to press the select button, just dial up the address you want, and then plug it in. The green light should come on. I don;t think it is supposed to stay on when unplugged.

 Instead of hookign the LT1 to the track, just watch the track power light on the Zephyr itself. If address 00 is set to speed 0, it shoudl be orangey-red. As you increase the throttle in one direction it shoudl get more red. In the opposite direction it shoudl get less red - it never goes green, the type of red and green bicolor LED they use, the red tends to wash out any green.

 Unless of course you have programmed your Zephyr to disable analog operation, then address 00 will not work. You can verify it by selecting 00 on the Zephyr itself and tryign it - the LED shoudl change color. Hit Loco, Exit on the Zephyr and try the UT4R again. SHoudl get the same LED change on the track power LED on the Zephyr.

OK – I have everything hooked up. I have the LT1 test light hooked up to the rails. I have the UR91 hooked to the power supply and the phone lines going from the back of the Zephyr into the back of the UR91. I power up the system ( there are no locos on the track) and select the track-on button. The green LED lights on the LT1 are on and the green light on the UR91 is on.

 

I have a battery in the UT4R and connect it to the UR91. A green light comes on. All of the LOCO dials are at 0000 and I press the sel button. I turn the throttle to 99%. When I move the forward and reverse the led lights on the LT1 do not change. (should go red/green right and left)

 

When I disconnect the UT4R from the UR91 the light goes out. Should it stay on?

 

I don’t think I am programming this system correctly – can you make any suggestions?
