pin 1 on Digitrax 8-pin harness?
Posted by memsd on Saturday, January 8, 2011 1:50 PM

I ordered the SDH164 decoder with the 8-pin to 9-pin harness.  My problem is that I don't know which pin on the harness' 8-pin connector is pin 1.  Don't want to plug it in backwards and burn something out.

Pin 1 on any manufactures decoder harness is the orange wire. The NMRA standard 8 pin plug diagram is found here. http://www.mrdccu.com/curriculum/basics/ready.htm

Plugging an 8 pin plug backwards will not do any harm. The loco would run backwards and the lights will not work.
