Perfectly sufficient for that short distance.

Thanks Rich...and to all
Robert1441 I have a stright DC shelf layout..HO. It is 15' long. I'll have an 18 AWG wire run the 15' feet and branch off of it with 24 AWG at the ends and in the middle. I should be OK, with very little voltage drop??? Please tell me what you think, and have a happy holiday!!! Robert

Robert,
18 AWG wire should be fiine. I use 14 AWG wire for the bus on my DCC layout, but that is because I have a lot of the stuff laying around from house wiring projects. Feeder wires of 24 AWG wire will also be fine. That is what I use on my layout.
