Thanks.  Right after I posted this, I went to Kadee and asked them.  Sam-the-answer-man got right back to me.  Kadee is now marketing a power supply for this purpose.  It's also available from Mouser.  I'll order one when we get back from skiing in January.

Take a look at the below link from a Google search. You will probably find some usefull info there.

Instructions say 3 amps @ 16 volts DC or 18 volts AC, http://www.kadee.com/html/309%20ins.pdf.  I don't know if the lower amp requirement makes the search easier or more difficult.

Still looking for an uncoupler power supply
Posted by MisterBeasley on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 1:22 PM

A while back, I installed the first of my Kadee #309 electromagnetic uncouplers.  At the time, I was having trouble finding a power supply for this.  I did find one, but it turns out it's a little weird, and just doesn't seem suited to this job.

The unit wants about 4 amps at 16 volts, as I recall.  Looking around, I can't seem to find anything in this range for a reasonable price.  What have other people used?  More important, where did you get it?  Thanks.
