Get it to someone who has a DCC system that can program CV's and have it reset to the factory defaults. On the GP30's that I have I had to put a resistor across the rails to get them to program.

It depends on what value you programmed into CV 29.  It's possible that the decoder has lost its programming due to long-term storage and may need to be reset, but if you don't have a DCC system I have no idea how to reset a Bachmann decoder.

Bachmann DCC question......
Posted by SS Express on Thursday, December 2, 2010 5:13 PM

Silly dcc question to ask.......I have a 3 year old bachmann GP-30 with dcc on board. It ran great last season when I packed it away but now after unpacking for this year it all of the sudden is DOA. I have dc voltage to the board but nothing to the lights or motor. I did program it to a DCC layout last season and again, it ran great. My question is that if once programed to DCC, are they no longer DC compatible??

Many thanks......Rich
