Traffic light thanx
Posted by ccg on Sunday, November 7, 2010 6:18 AM

thankyou, thankyou, thankyou    for your advice on my H.O. traffic light question.  I found the Model Power #596 light fixtures at nicholas Smith trains inc in broomall PA. for $9.95 in a 2 pack, pre-wired into a 4 position switch operating at 14 volts. I cut the switch out, and wired each lamp into a 12 term. terminal board under the layout at each intersection. I then ran a 8 conductor cable from each intersection back to my computer. I wrote a program to control the lights with different time delays for each color light. The lights look great and work perfect. Being new in model railroading, I am thankful for all of the advise I have received at this website.

thanx again Corbyn City George  (ccg)

Good to see a solution found and at a good price.  I've seen those same signals at Nicholas smith. The only thing that kept me from them is that they use bulbs.

no real problem if you like them. I prefer LED's since I feel they look better and are better controled by my crossing setup with the lower voltage requirements.
