Well I've found time to start disassembling the mess. I have been able to guess that all the tunnels and mountains are the reason for all the track contacts and under table diesel horn. Every time a train entered a tunnel it blew it's horn. The semaphores also changed color. I found the track feeds and see no reason to disconnect those. All wiring is led to one corner of the 4X8 and the is where the control must have been. One thing I did notice was that the snap relay for one of the diesel horns had the plastic melted. Some little fingers must have like to hear it. I still can't imagine someone destroying such a work of art.
I am trying to get pictures online. I haven't had time to mess with Photobucket. I'll get it today as I'm not having a good day.
