I Just installed a sdn1441e decoder loco runs 10in and stops 15 seconds later starts goes 10 to 20 in and stops. Any ideas?

Wayne,
You don't have the same address selected on two different throttles, do you?
Did you install the capacitor? Without th cap, I'm afraid the new Digitrax N Scale sound decoders are less than advertised. The ten to fifteen second delay you see are probably more in line with pressing one of the function buttons while the engine is running. There is not enough power for the motor and sounds at the same time. Press the F2 horn and the engine will stall. Some models will reverse for an inch or two then restart forward until a function button is pressed again. Turning down the volume may help but they are already a wimpy on volume.

I had exactly the same problem - installed the decoder straight from the packaging without the capacitor and I was completely underwhelmed by the performance. I then connected the capacitor and the transformation was quite impressive - the engine ran (relatively) smoothly and only a slight slow-down in loco speed is seen when bells or whistles are played.
I have to admit the performance of the decoder isn't as good as a digitrax non-sound decoder, but for the price it is acceptable for a little bit of sound on a decoder as long as the capacitor is installed.
Hope this helped.
Darren.
