Additional note: I use #30 wire wrap for the conductors. I also wire wrap the leds on the circuit board. No solder.
Thanks! This is what I needed. I actually bought my "magnet wire" at Radio Shack. May be the last electronic item they have....
I also leave mine open and paint them black. I have converted most of mine to LED's and make the post from hollow brass stock and filing a slot big enough for the wires to run down. I found a good sorce for wire at Hobby Lobby in the doll house section. They sell 32 ga. wire for the doll house wiring in a 50 ft roll, enough to make quite a few signal masts. Jim.
After the circuit board was installed and the wires routed down the mast I just painted the back. The prototype had no "back". The lamp housings were connected via conduit and the front target was just a sheet metal circle with holes for the lamp housings. The rain shield was part of the lamp housing not the front target and projected thur the holes.
Good morning everyone,
Can someone post how they have covered the rear of an Oregon Rail PRR signal head. I have wired the LED's, but before I reinvent the wheel, I thought I would get some suggestion on how you folks have dealt with the circuit board and associated wires. Pictures would be appreciated (as most show the signals head on).
Thanks,
Ed
