I have an old Ho DC controller and want to use it for N scale trains. Is this possible or do I have to go out and buy a new controller? Its an old MRC power pack from around 2000?
Depends on the model. If it's a Tech II or Tech III or Tech IV, those are transistor throttles and will work for any scale. If it's one of the lower end ones with a rheostat, and it's meant for HO, it won;t work with most N scale locos (or soem modern HO locos even). It won;t hurt the locos - they just won;t be very controllable - taking off at near maximum speed when you just crack the throttle. Post the model number and we can be sure which type it is.
