I know Soundtraxx will be coming out with the Gevo sound set for the intermountain ES44AC. Probably best bet will be to wait and get that. It will have correct K5HL and E-Bell, as well as a mechanical bell. They will feature true Gevo-12 prime movers also.

I mean as the decoder board as a replacement, not the model.

I replaced the Digitrax SoundFX decoders in two Tower 55 ES4400ACs with QSI Revolutions, and they sound much, much better.

The QSI decoders are not exactly the same size and shape as the Digitrax ones, but fitting them was no big problem.

I also replaced the speakers and moved them into the back of the shell instead of being in the fuel tank area, using oval high bass speakers with enclosures.

The original round speakers in the fuel tank area were not properly baffled.

Contact Ulrich Models Hobby Shop and he can tell you exactly which decoders and speakers to use.

I´m tired of the sound of my Tower55 ES44AC (Digitrax). Anybody knows a suitable and better replacement? Thanks
