Am researching this locomotive. Does anyone have any experience with them yet? So far I've had good experiences with Spectrum loco's, but like the Climax, there's always one that doesn't come out right.
Thanks to all who reply.

I have the 4-6-0 and 4-4-0 . Nice running locos. Be careful with the connections. Some people are rough with them connected and break a wire loose from one of the connectors.
I bought them DCC ready and installed the Micro-Tsunami and 1 inch speaker. Lighting was a little dim on my 4-6-0 but it is almost two years old and there may have been changes to make the light brighter. I removed the PC board in mine and installed using my resistors.
As far as I know, the Spectrum steamers come with the Tsunami sound. Not sure how many DCC ready ones are around.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
Thanks, Rich. The new ones come with sound. There's lots of them still being sold on Ebay. They seem to have a lot of interest, but are going at decent prices for the most part.
From what I have seen in different forums, the 2-8-0 is quite popular also.
If you do not have them, the SoundTraxx site has two documents for the factory installed Bachmann sound decoders.
Might not be an issue for you but no way to sync the chuff's with the factory installed decoder. With SoundTraxx decoder you install, there is an option for syncing the chuff's with the cylinder motion. I have not done that.
I am just playing with toys. I do not even wear an engineers hat when running the trains.
He-he! Yup me too, but thanks for the tip. Maybe some day when I win the lottery I'll be able to be concerned about getting the sound to synch with the cylinders.
Roy,
You didn't specify 'sound equipped' so I asume you don't necessarily want that. I have one 4-6-0 and three 2-8-0's, all without sound. They all are great running and looking engines. I am very pleased with their slow speed and reasonable top speed as well. They all can pull a decent number of cars even up a 2% grade. As pointed out earlier, the connectors are very delicate and need to be carefully inserted. I may add sound and DCC later, but for now they will remain silent. I also got all of mine on Ebay at very reasonable prices.
