Try Litchfield Station for harnesses.

Thanks for the answers. Main thing I was interested in was speed matching. Engines that most of them will go into will be PK 1000 F 3's. Wish I had thought to ask about what plugs they came with. I am going to need to find two harness for the new F3's.

              Thanks again, Cuda Ken

 Ken.

Here is a link for the instructions for those decoders.

 http://www.ncedcc.com/images/stories/manuals/d15sr.pdf

CV2 through 29 will be the same as your Digitrax decoders for adjusting speeds. The NCE decoders have a CV for adjusting forward and reverse trim also. They are 6 function decoders so there is plenty of outputs for mars and ditch lights. How your locos are set up already will depend on resistors and additional wiring.

I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

Ken,

It's too late now, but you should have bought the D13SRJ decoder, which has the JST socket on it and would be a simple plug in replacement.

Empire Northern Models in Webster, New York, sells the D13SRJ for $12 each in lots of 10, and even includes the harnesses.

Any Tips on NCE decoders?
Posted by cudaken on Monday, June 21, 2010 5:23 PM

Just got a batch on NCE D15SR decoders. These are to replaces some DH 163 and DH 123 decoders that gave up there smoke. (400 plus hours) Used there BBQ other brand decoder special so I got 5 for $52.00.

I was just a little disappointing when I saw there harness was hard wire only. But I think the Digitrax 8 pin into the PC board will fit the 9 pin into the decoder of the NCE. Am I right?

When I said I just got them, I have not opened them yet. Do they speed match the same as Digitrax, use the same CV's? Do I need to use resistors for LED's?

If I like them and pretty sure I will, I want a few for my Proto 2000 E 6 fleet with Mars lights. Which decoder will work with out soldering?

 Thanks in advances Ken.
