I find TCS decoders have a lot clearer instructions than Digitrax. It lets you easily work out what value to put in each CV to get exactly what you want.  Early on I only bought Digitrax because they had Back EMF; now that TCS has it too I'll just be using them (in any non-sound applications).

Even if an MRC decoder is priced right and the LHS owner say's it's good do not bite.  Put the extra couple of bucks down for the one's mentioned by David and save yourself a lot of problems.

I have a Model Power Pacific and Mikado. Also, I have two 0-8-0's from Walthers. All four are N scale. I want to install DCC decoders in them. I am using a Digitrax Zephyr system. What decoders would be best for me to buy? Thanks, Jim
