Problem with QSI-U for Gas Turbine
Posted by winnetou on Friday, May 14, 2010 11:14 AM

DisapproveHi,friends,I have a problem with my QSI-U decoder for Athearn Gas Turbine.

I have them installed and the installation was successfull,so I can hear the sound and effects-but the engine doesn´t run :-(

With an other decoder they runs fine.Reset was without success.

Can anybody solve this problem?Angry

I agree with David.  It sounds like your engine may be in "disconnect" mode.  In this mode you can operate the throttle and hear the sounds but the engine won't move.  Try clicking F6 twice.  This will bring it out of disconnect and it should run.  Otherwise, you may have decoder or electrical connection problems.

I had a very similar problem with a QSI Revolution-U decoder even though the locomotive had been running just fine.  After a couple of weeks of inactivity, the motor wouldn't respond at all to the throttle, no matter how many times F6 was pushed.

I eventually got it to wake up by resetting the decoder to factory default values and starting all over again.

Hi,the problem is always the same-I have take reset(through CV),-sound o.k.-running-no ???

Changing the QSI-decoder in an other engine-the same, changing an other decoder-DH163 in the gas turbine-they run-I think,it´s a problem with the decoder.I have send an email to QSI-I hope, they give me an answer in the next time-I will inform you-thanks,SteffenBanged Head
