Yes, change the CV 30 to 0 and then remap. It worked for me.

OK changing CV 30 to 0 didn't help me. Unless they mean to change CV 30 to 0 and then try to change mapping?I get so aggravated with the CVs that I have to take a break from them ever once in a while. There is also a quirk that shows up ever so often. When I fire up the loco and push F7 for rod clank it shuts off the sound after a second push sound comes back on then I can push F7 and to get the proper response. Go figure. The loco is usable but I'm sure not pleased with the decoder.

Good info, thanks.
Broadway limited was smart with their paragon 2 loco's They have a CV selection to make them Default Compatible with either QSI or Blueline. Looks like Soundtraxx hid a similar feature in their OEM decoder to do the same.

yankee flyer Hi Guys Posting a subject for discussion.I'm not convinced that the Tsunami manual gives the correct information for Bachmanns' version of the Tsunami, which means Decoder Pro does not have the correct information either. To me there seems to be errors in function mapping, CVs etc.1 DP shows 12 functions and what button does what but they don't correspond to the buttons on my Power Cab. My other steamers work correctly.2 The manual shows the CV to turn off load compensation (bemf) but when I do the engine won't move.3 there are other CVs that I question but can't remember at this moment.4 the sound is tinny and not as good as my 2-8-0 or 4-8-2 mountain.5 DP shows 3 whistles but only 2 work. All this makes me think that Bachmann needs to make a manual for their version. Y'all have a good evening.Lee

> Hi, I have a question. I have a couple of Tsunami 1000´s and have just recently bought a Bachmann Spectrum 4-6-0 with a OEM Tsunami in it. And if so, what CV´s should they have?> I hope you can help me out here.> With regards; Michael Graff, Sweden
Michael, If you change CV 30 to a value of 0, you can then use the function mapping as is found in the Tsunami technical reference. Let me know if you are still having any problems setting up your preferences. -JarretteIt worked. But the issue of the BEMF I didn´t ask about, you have to ask them yourself regarding that. please share the answers here.
Hope this helped.
Well, compare the price of the desired loco with and without sound. Usually the price difference is less than what it would cost you to buy a sound decoder, speaker, and enclosure. Based on your experience with THIS one, work involved is about the same Of course not all makes of locos with sound use a custom built stripped down version of an otherwise top tier decoder, so the pain may be lessened as in the thing would be electrically sound but you may have to tweak the running gear. (my first PCM T1 had a loose wire, and a bit of a bind in the driveline - the motor was slightly cocked and kept the universal always tilted to one side. My second one creeps beautifully forward and reverse with no adjustments)

I just checked and my manual says Tsunami OE edition "1" on the front. I printed it and had it bound.I was wondering if anyone else had issues with the decoder or was it just me?The next question I ask myself is, self do I want to buy another engine with DCC installed or install a decoder of my choice?
cacoleHave you downloaded the SoundTraxx manual for OEM Bachmann decoders from their web site? http://www.soundtraxx.com/manuals/OEM%20Steam%20Users%20Guide.pdf The creators of Decoder Pro probably haven't updated their files to support this decoder, since they rely on volunteer programmers. I don't own any Bachmann models with the new Tsunami decoders, but there must be some CVs that are different than those used in a standard Tsunami or they wouldn't have published a separate manual for the OEM Bachmann version. I recently purchased an Athearn diesel switcher with Tsunami decoder, and the CVs for it are different than those for the OEM Bachmann version, since the Bachmann manual is for a steam engine. SoundTraxx hasn't put a manual on their web site yet for the diesel Tsunami used by Athearn.

There is a Yahoo JMRI Group that discusses Decoder Pro and Panel Pro. Lot of info and discussion there.

Athearn site has had the Tsunami PDF's for some time. I and someone else have posted the link before in this forum.
