Posted by scott018 on Saturday, February 27, 2010 9:48 AM

Just started with dcc, have a zepher unit at times when running 2 units at the same time and one derails all of the other locos take off on their own. Even when turned off. Any ideas on how to handle this. Sorry about the previous all caps post new to this posting thing.......

Reprogram CV 29 in the decoders to turn off DC operation.  And please don't type in all caps -- that's shouting at us in Internet protocol.

 Scott,

First, turn your caps off.  Posting in all upper case is viewed as shouting and is considered rude.  If you have issues seeing, try using CTRL + in your browser to increase the font size.

Second, turn off the analog (DC) ability in your decoders to prevent the runaways.  You might also want to address the cause for the shorts, since especially with DCC they can cause problems (as you're finding out...)

HTH,

Steve

Set CV29=34 or CV29=35, depending on your normal direction of travel.

One other ting that you might do is set the Zephyr OpSw #20 to c.  This will turn off the zero stretching at the command station.
