Well, I guess not all MRC decoders use the same CVs.  The Sounder documentation lists CV 50 as the horn type with values between 0 and 17.  CV 52 is the bell type, with values of 0 through 6.  That's not consistent with the values you set.

Unless they left a slot "blank" with no sound file in it or something equally silly.

I was at the website & tried those CVs already. A value of 3 is max volume. A value of 0 is minimum volume, but not off. I got the answer. Change CV 50 to 11. Change CV 52 to 7. Thanks.

CV 51 = Horn Volume.  Range is 0 to 3.

CV 53 = Bell Volume.  Range is 0 to 3.

Documentation can be downloaded from the MRC web site.  These are the CVs listed for a Sounder Diesel Decoder number 1662, but they are all probably the same.

Athearn Genesis/MRC decoder info

Good Morning. I'm trying to help a friend. I have his Athearn Genesis F7 A&B units. These are the older units prior to Athearn going with Soundtraxx. Both are powered with the MRC sound decoders. I know, I know! The MRC decoders have a bad rep. I know first hand. My first install was an MRC decoder. Anyway. on the B unit, he would like to turn off the bell & the horn. Those on in both units its way too loud. I can't find a CV to turn those sounds off. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks Ed Radz
