While I don't use the wireless system, I do have CVPs EasyDCC with the tethered throttles. I love my system. It's very robust and easy to use. One important thing EasyDCC DOES NOT support address 0, so you can't run DC locomotives on your EasyDCC layout.
Although some of the information is bit stale...here's my EasyDCC tread from a couple years ago...http://cs.trains.com/trccs/forums/p/126886/1430338.aspx#1430338

old 58What I was wanting was someones opinion if they liked the system, and they thought was worth the time and money to buy it.
Well, I own it. And so do lots of my friends. We are a biased bunch so take the opinion for what it is worth. CVP is a bare bones, rock solid system. No bells and whistles, but very reliable and easy to use. When I purchased it, it was arguably the most reliable wireless out there. Since then other systems have gotten better, so the choice is not as clear now as it was then. I would suggest that you run on several systems if possible before parting with the cash.
One more thought (or two): Another way to put it is that I don't mess around much with my system. I just go out and run trains. That for me has been worth every penny.. I like the simplicity of the RF 1300 throttle and the ease of use of the system in general. I can hand a throttle to a visitor and they are running trains right now. There are drawbacks like any system. Do a forum search for other threads detailing these items. FWIW: Product support is excellent as well.

Go to the CVP web site and read about their system. Then download their instruction manual and see how difficult you think it may be. Do a little research on your own. I have an Easy DCC system without radio throttles, and a fellow modeler has the radio throttles. Easy DCC is a very good system, especially with the wireless throttles; however, I personally think NCE ProCab Radio throttles are more capable, although larger.

An NCE PowerCab would also be a good starter system, but it is a tethered system. The NCE Power Pro Radio system is excellent.
