Ok, so I bought my Rivarossi Allegheny nearly a year ago and recently it decided to start stopping and losing power at speed (any speed). Since the C&O never really ran their allegheny's at their max speed for coal drags, I dont. So anyways, I put my allegheny at the front of a coal drag and I make it go about scale 15 mph and it just stalls! I have to give it a push for it to go again, then it does it again...and again...and again... Any help would be greatly appreciated as I dont want to decommishen a $500 engine!!
Thanks for all the help!

I suspect you have dirty wheels or dirty track - Have you looked the drive wheels or the track?

Yes I have, many times to be exact. I have clean track and wheels; thats whats confusing me.
Is it a new DCC or sound equipped Rivarossi ? It might be a flakey decoder. Try a factory reset to default values and see if that corrects the problem. I have no idea whose decoder Rivarossi is using in their newer models, but if it's an MRC that could very well be the problem.
It is a 2008? model I think and it does have DCC and sound. I never even thought of the decoder...could that be it?
