If the frogs are not isolated than you need to insulate the two rails that come out of the frog.  Here is a link to setting up turnouts of various makes more DCC friendly.

Which Shinohara switches do you have?  Some of the older ones required that every rail diverging from the frog have an insulated rail joiner or they caused a short because the polarity of the frog and rails diverging from the frog changes according to which stock rail the points are touching.

Shinohara switch short

When I turn Shinohara C#100 #6 and 3 way route-selective not DCC friendly switches around faceing each other it shorts out. But not when they are all facing the same way. I have been using Atlas for a long, long time and not had this problem. I wonted better switches for my new HO layout I am building in my basement. I use Digitrax DCC Super Chief.   I am trying to put in a passing track. 2/24 2010 update I bought  (2) LH and (1) RH DCC friendly C# 83 switches. As long as the first switches non friendly are facing the same way as the new ones friendly I have no problem. I gave up trying to get the non friendly switches to work. The new switches are Shinohara from Walters too.
