Daniel,

Just to summarize what you've said so far, you have the following:

  • DCC system - Lenz 90
  • DC Locomotives - Athearn CSX SD40-2 and Athearn Amtrak FP-45

In addition to that, you want to install decoders in each of your locomotives, yes?

Now, a few questions for you, Daniel:

  • Are you looking for decoder recommendations?
  • Are you wanting to know how to go about installing the decoders into your two locomotives?
  • How long have had your Lenz DCC system?
  • Do you have much experience operating in DCC?

If you're looking for motor and light control with simple installation then I recommend the Digitrax DH123AT decoder. It just clips on.

Go to youtube and search for Athearn Decoder DCC and you should find some good videos that explain how to install a decoder in an Athearn locomotive.

Google is good! Yahoo is my friend.
