DCC OG-AR Not Reversing
Posted by GMILL47 on Saturday, February 6, 2010 9:33 PM

OG-AR Auto Reveerse isn't working.  I bought two, the first is working perfectrly and I have replaced one for the other and the problem remains at the same location, so it isn't the units.  I have used #16 wire for the bus and connections from the bus to the AR and then on to the rail.  My loco either stops as it crosses the gaps or sometimes the engine will start up after sitting a few seconds.  I notice when the loco stalls that the NCE breaker kicks in.  Any help or suggestions?

Are you sure you have both rails gapped at both ends of the reversing section?  It sounds like one end is not properly gapped/insulated.

Tony recommends that the insulated gaps be staggered at least 1/8 inch.

Cacole

You were right.  Thanks for the suggestion.  I had the plastic rail joiners but one had pushed against the plastic divider and with a bit of angle in the rail cut, it was making contact.  I opened a gap and put a piece of insulation between the rails and glued it.  It now runs great.
