Bingo, larak! I went straight to denatured alcohol, which I believe to be stronger than rubbing alcohol, and it worked nicely. I had quite a buildup, which tore up a Q-Tip big time, so I used a paper towel and generous amounts of denatured alcohol. Add a toothpick for the tight threads and a little elbow grease and you're done.
I'll be more careful and clean regularly in the future.

Denatured Alcohol (not the same as rubbing alcohol - which may work for some rosins).
The mind is like a parachute. It works better when it's open. www.stremy.net
Try some rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip.
I use Radio Shack rosin paste flux, which over time has gotten into the container threads.
This makes it difficult to remove and reattach the top.
Anybody know what will dissolve it?
Thanks.
