Humming, Buzzing Loco's on new DCC Prodigy Advance.

Well that's simple enough. And yes these are n gauge. Just have to turn the tv up louder I reckon. And thank you for the info.

That is normal for the Atlas factory installed decoders(at least for the N scale ones, I don't know about the HO scale ones). The only thing you can do about it is replace the decoder with a high frequency "silent drive" decoder. The buzzing is caused by the decoder sending the power to the motor in pulses, and "silent drive" decoders send the pulses at a high enough frequency to be beyond our range of hearing.

New layout and new at DCC. Fired this baby up and it works great. However, my two Atlas loco's with factory installed decoders sound scary when I start to throttle them to move. When up to speed the noise seems to stop. These loco's aren't brand new and they have been run some in the past. I messed around with the programing which changed some things, but not this problem. Any advice?
