I just got 5 of these, for a killer deal, and will be wiring them up in a week or so. I found that the wires are all presoldered and you simply need to provide AC power to the two brown leads- the instructions booklet included has a full diagram for you, so you should reference that (including switch direction) in rewiring the light. Also, in the future you should always cut the wire and solder the new lead (if you need more wire distance) leaving some of the original colored wire attached to the pins. This way, you can't miswire it when you extend your wiring!
I'd say you mixed the common wire with one of the other leads.I don't know these signals but usual color used for "common" or "ground" is either black or white. It should be linked to power supply (-) terminal. The (+) terminal goes to your switch center post then the two outer go to your lights two other wires.
I just did some wiring this weekend and installed my first model power two-light signal. When I went to turn it on the red and green signals are on together, when I slide the switch the red is on and the green is off.The switch has a right, left and middle position.Shouldn't the signal go just green and just red and be able to be both turned off?Did I wire it wrong?Any suggestions would be welcomedthanksAndy
