Atlas n-scale 8-40cw decoder programming
Posted by dillco4 on Thursday, November 5, 2009 8:26 PM

Can someone tell me why I cant program my N-scale 8-40cw with a Atlas installed decoder. This unit uses the new decoders Atlas is using not the old lenz it has a nce decoder. My system is digitrax all my other locos have digitrax decoders in them and program fine. Do I have to put a resistor in the track power wire during programming?

If it won;t program, there may be a loose connection, either to the track pickups or the motor. NCE decoders need no special consideration for programming. I use ONLY NCE and TCS decoders on my Digitrax system an they've always programmed fine. Maybe try another program method (if you've been using Direct, Pd on the throttle, try Paged, Pg, or vice-versa).
