does anyone have a suggestion as to why the sound on my new MTH SD70ace stopped working? I dont have DCC and I am using standard DC railpower 1370 15 volt for power. The lights and loco run fine but no sound. I followed the maual and still no sound. I am thinking about sending it back. Also I placed the loco on a single track seperate from layout and still no sound? Thanks
Also does anyone know how to remove the shell? I am way to nervous to try an remove the body to get to the speaker. Someone said it could be a pinched wire?????
Send it back to MTH. Opening it up may invalidate the warranty if you break something.
don't be afraid to send the model back to mth. I had to send my Daylight in last month.
1. Call and get a return number.
2. mail it with insurance.
3. check the mth web site with your return number to get the status.
4. Here is the best part--they have a 2 week turn around policy. You will have it back within 2 weeks after they get it.
You have one of the new MTH SD70's and you run it on only DC. I was inquiring about getting an SD 70M-2 NS and running it on my DC Layout with the exact same power supply you have. How does it work compared to your other locos?
I just sent mine back to MTH, those jerks would not even reply back to me after two weeks! I will stick with Broadway Limited, athearn, and Atlas from now on. Yes my other sound control engines from Broadway limited run just fine on DC. I did buy the broadway Dc controler for extra sounds on my blue lines. Im sure someone here with DCC and lots of cash will tell you diff, but its just fine to stay with DC as long as you are happy with just the locomotives sound and you dont need 100 other stupid MTH fetures after all its just a hobby not real life. I even do my switching in my yard with standard DC. I figure if I want the real thing I will go rail fanning. If you go onto you tube there are way way to many look at me guys on there who think they are REAL RR engineers with there DCC. Anyway hope this helps
