Unfortunately, as of right now you can not do what you are wanting to do. You can run trains with the MRC software, but there is no provision for any kind of automation. This kind of stuff can be done with the JMRI software, but MRC has refused to release the information necessary for JMRI to interface with the MRC hardware.

Chris,

Right now the MRC computer interface is for 'programming' locomotives using MRC's own software.  MRC has not 'opened up' their interface, so software like Decoder Pro or Panel Pro can be used with their system.  This would also lock out other software vendors as well.  Maybe they will 'open up' their interface so other applications can use it in the future.

MRC DCC Computer Interface
Posted by chrisr422 on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 7:53 PM

I am thinking about adding the computer interface to my MRC DCC system. I want to be able to set my computer to do some timed commands. Like,  I want it to sound the horn then the ball as it starts up then run for 20 minutes then slow to a stop. Stay put for 20 more minutes then start the whole thing again over and over. Am I wanting the imposible or is this doable? Thanks!
